Today, 6-8th graders participated in a Matzah Bakeoff in which students had 18 minutes to determine the right proportion of ingredients, mix the dough, roll, and bake their matzoh. Throughout, science teacher (and trained chef!), Morah Debra, taught the students about gluten, leavening, and the scientific way to combine the ingredients for ideal results. Their creations were judged in a blind taste test by the 5th grade class. In Judaics, the day before Matzoh Madness, students discussed the connection between matzoh and freedom. Congratulations to 6th graders, Ezra and Harel, whose matzoh received the highest scores in the taste test! And thanks to @bnaiamoona for letting us use the lunch room.
