This wasn’t your ordinary trip to the St. Louis Zoo — גן חיות (gan chayot)!

Our 5th graders wrapped up their Hebrew animal unit by spending the day solving Hebrew riddles, navigating the zoo with a custom Hebrew map, and embarking on a scavenger hunt, snapping photos with each animal they found.

It was hands-on, place-based learning at its best: using Hebrew in a real-world setting while building curiosity, collaboration, and joy!
