We are committed to making Mirowitz available to a diverse community of families, and offer a variable tuition model that adjusts tuition to meet your family's unique financial position.
To assist in making objective decisions about tuition, Mirowitz uses the a service called FACTS to assess a family’s ability to pay. A recommendation from FACTS is reviewed by the tuition assistance committee. The committee recognizes that the FACTS report may not accurately portray the whole picture of a family’s financial situation and welcomes a letter that may clarify your family finances. Tuition discounts are awarded on an annual basis each spring and are based on available dollars. In keeping with our core values, all information received and discussed by the committee is kept confidential.
To qualify for financial assistance, families must submit a financial statement form online at FACTS by January 31. You also will be required to submit a copy of your recent tax return. Applications for assistance received after January 31 will not be included in the initial tuition assistance distribution, and will be considered only if additional dollars are available.
Decisions regarding a child’s qualifications for admission or re-enrollment are in no way connected to decisions regarding tuition assistance.
Students entering kindergarten participate in a “playdate” screening in the kindergarten classroom which gives the school and prospective students an opportunity to begin to know each other. While children visit the classroom, parents are invited to meet informally with administrators, teachers and current parents. Late applicants who miss the scheduled group visits will have an evaluation with our learning specialist.
Students applying to grades 1-8 are required to spend a day in a classroom. During their visit, they will participate in all classroom activities and be assessed to determine their skills in reading, writing and math.
Upon completion of all steps in the application process, the admission committee meets to determine an admission decision for each applicant. Families will be notified of the admission decision by March 15. A signed enrollment form and non-refundable tuition deposit must be returned within two weeks of acceptance to reserve a space in the class.
