In our classrooms, technology helps students connect with ideas, with information, with classmates and teachers, and with communities outside our four walls. Our students create digital stories, program robots, and interact with each other and their teachers using Google Apps.
With one-to-one access to iPads or computers, Mirowitz students use technology to solve problems, complete projects and creatively extend their abilities. They begin coding at an early age, a skill that is practical, and at the same time teaches the important frustration tolerance and computational thinking.
Digital Citizenship is an important part of our work. Lessons in our middle school digital citizenship curriculum focus on such topics as oversharing and online cruelty, internet privacy, cyberbullying and the power of words, and the digital footprint we create as we use social media.
