Building a Bright Future: Exciting New Programs for our 25-26 School

March 9, 2025

The latest news of our evolution to a K-6 has been difficult. You must know we remain committed to providing an extraordinary childhood to all our students. Our school’s strong foundation will continue to be a place of academic excellence, where children grow to be socially responsible, ethical leaders and Jewish learning inspires children to connect joyfully with their heritage.  We want to share some innovative programs we look forward to launching in the 2025-2026 school year designed to deepen our sense of kehillah (community), strengthen student leadership, and enhance family engagement- all while nurturing our shared Jewish values.

Each week, the entire school will gather for a special Monday morning assembly and t’fillah, led by the students themselves, with special announcements and recognitions.

In addition to leading prayers, students will also have the opportunity to write and share their own personal prayers, adding their voices to our communal worship. This meaningful practice will contribute to an ongoing, multi-year project—the creation of a unique school siddur, written by and for our students.

Our commitment to action and tikkun olam will also take center stage with Social Action Adventures, where students will participate in hands-on projects at school and off-site to support our local and global communities.

Additionally, we are expanding opportunities for students to connect with the earth through regular gardening and caring for the woods, deepening their understanding of environmental stewardship rooted in Jewish values.

Student leadership will also flourish in new ways, including introducing student government (Vaad Chesed)  in the Lower School, empowering even our youngest students to have a voice in shaping their school experience.

For families, we are excited to offer Family Theme Nights, where parents and children can learn, create, and explore together.

Our new Parent/Child Book Clubs will allow families to read and discuss books together, building meaningful conversations across generations.

Through expanded parent learning opportunities, parents will have more chances to engage in Jewish learning and connect with one another.

Finally, we are launching a buddies program across grade levels to strengthen relationships within our school community. This program will foster friendships between older and younger students and nurture a sense of responsibility and care.

Together, these programs reflect our school’s commitment to creating a vibrant, caring, and student-centered Jewish community where learning, leadership, creativity, and connection thrive.

L’shalom,

Raquel
