WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES?
What memories stand out from your years in elementary school? The cafeteria food? Recess? Getting caught chewing gum in class?
This week, I asked a few of our older students about their favorite school memories. Here are the answers they gave:
- Our Colonial Day simulation! (Nadav)
- Talking to my representative in Jefferson City. (Ellior)
- Learning about the Oregon Trail. (Olivia)
- Going to Heifer Ranch in 6th Grade. (Michael)
- It snowed on our Hebrew overnight! (Danny)
- I loved our trip to Memphis. (Mahlet)
- Our hikes in the Smoky Mountains. (Avi)
- When we planted the prairie. (Evie)
- The day Eric joined our class! (Nate)
Mirowitz teachers purposefully plan for learning moments that will become treasured life-long memories. We are committed to overnight adventures in grades 3 through 8. We infuse each year with milestone celebrations like Simchat Gan, Simchat Siddur and Torah chanting. We plant butterfly gardens, grow prairies and build ponds and grow vegetables to immerse our students in the world beyond the classroom.
It is our belief that students can walk through life with memories of their schooling that have a basis in profound moments of learning. If the synthesis of information is significant, it will be forever a part of who each child becomes. We are proud to raise a generation of people who associate learning and Judaism with positive memories.
