The Hatzbani nature reserve water hike and the float on the Jordan river was a cool way to connect with friends. The hike was chilly and hot at the same time, which made it really memorable. We then floated with five or six people per raft down the Jordan river. My raft got into a twist with another group, and (of course) won! Who knew that water fights could be such a fun way to relax and enjoy Israel with friends?

Monday night, we participated in a Yom HaZikaron ceremony at Kibbutz Lavi. It was a very powerful experience for me, and my first time singing the Hatikvah in Israel. Singing the national anthem in Israel surrounded by Israelis who had lost relatives fighting for the country is really different from singing it at school. And seeing the Israeli flag waving reminded me of all that has been sacrificed so it can fly.
